Family Life

Mum’s busy watching Eastenders

Dad’s busy surfing the net,

Sister Jo is on her mobile,

Latest romance, longest one yet!

Little brother’s playing with Action Man,

Saving the world before tea!

I’d like to talk about my day,

But nobody listens to me.

Mum’s off out to Weight Watchers,

Dad’s working out at the gym,

Sister Jo’s got another date with Paul,

She’s really dead keen on him!

I’m making cakes with the Brownies,

Come on, we’re going to be late,

We can’t sit and talk to my brother,

His problems will just have to wait.

Dad makes a rush for the cornflakes,

Mum’s eating her Special K,

I’m fighting over the Cocoa Pops,

I’ll get the toy first today.

There’s no sign yet of my sister,

She hasn’t got out of bed,

We’ve got school and work to get to,

"We’ll see her tonight" Mum said.

We always seem to be rushing,

There’s no time to talk anymore,

I know we have busy, active lives,

And problems are such a bore,

But if we could talk to each other,

Sharing our worries each day,

I really think we’d be happier,

Life would be better I’d say.
