Entente Cordiale Competition
Year 5 and 6 at Wittersham School won the Entente Cordiale Competition, which led to a class trip to Guines, France, where the class received awards at a special presentation and were also treated to a very special evening banquet in Guines with lots of dancing and perfomances in a medieval setting. The prize also included another day in France with a visit to Nausicaa in Boulogne, the sea life centre and the opportunity to visit the winning French school who returned the visit to Wittersham.
The competition entry covered aspects of French and English art, history and geography, along with remembrance poetry written by the children to commemorate the sacrifice and struggle of the two world wars.
Special thanks are due to Dean Hawkins from Wittersham school who worked hard with the presentation of the entry.
